Digital Rhondda

Helping tackle digital inclusion through the provision of devices and the necessary knowledge in Rhondda

We connect with individuals and community group who are not online, adapting the support as needed but including handholding and guidance, keeping in touch to check for any problems or difficulties and providing people with cheap or free equipment (including laptops, PCs, tablets, smart speakers and mobiles) to loan.

Need support ?

We’re looking to help support anyone in need of some digital help or just seeking some friendly advice about a device you may have. Through a meeting online or safe doorstep conversation we hope to be able to support!

Thanks to the good thing’s foundation, we’re an online data centre which allows us access to Vodafone Simard’s. We can provide these to community members and groups to use for accessing the internet on a device which reduces support isolation and loneliness as well as helping people access friends, family education and employment.

No device ? No problem!

We have a range of different devices which we hope to loan out to those who need it. From 4G enabled tablets to laptops of different sizes, we hope to have a device to get you online!

For Rhondda digidol, we source our device which we loan to individuals, from members or community groups in the community which have old device which are no longer used. Once a donation of a device is received, we ensure all personal data is wiped from the device before handing it out on loan. This helps reduce the number of old devices that are being diverted to landfill and instead are going back into the community, repurposed and ready to help support those in need of digital support.

We re-use donations!

We’re hoping to help our project by taking donations of any unwanted or unused devices you may have at home. We aim to tackle the issue around these  devices and repurpose them for people who are digitally excluded.

Voluntering opportunities!

We are looking for active volunteers to help support us with this project. As a volunteer we would like help with supporting individuals who would receive our devices or to help manage the donations we hope to receive. This is a great opportunity to be apart of especially if you are looking to fill in some Welsh Bac hours or just willing to offer a helping hand!
