This review finds that smooth transitions from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS) are rare. Challenges include poorly timed handovers, the loss of a familiar and supportive environment, and significant cultural and organisational differences between the two services.
